David M. Shearer brings 30+ years of federal criminal legal experience to the LaHood Norton Law Group.
David spent three years as a DEA Task Force Officer in San Antonio, gaining expertise in physical and electronic surveillance (wiretaps, “pole cameras,” GPS cellular telephone tracking and vehicle tracking), proper drafting and execution of federal search and arrest warrants, use of confidential informants, and criminal forfeiture.
David served as an Assistant United States Attorney, in the Western District of Texas, for more than 26 years. Assigned to the Narcotics & Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, David has extensive experience investigating, charging, prosecuting, and sentencing federal narcotics, money laundering, firearms, Hobbs Act extortion, R.I.C.O., and Violent Crimes in Aid of Racketeering murder cases, with special emphasis on violent street/prison gangs. He also has significant experience with criminal forfeiture. David’s earlier assignments include Financial Institution Fraud (FIRREA) and Major Crimes (bank robbery, carjacking, and firearms cases).
David spent 28 years in the United States Marine Corps (Active and Reserve) as an Infantry and Reconnaissance Officer, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is no stranger to fighting for what is right.
